2 Corinthians 7:10 Daily Devotional
When we get convicted by the Holy Spirit, it allows us to reflect and change our ways if necessary. When the world convicts us, though, there’s no grace and we can end up unproductively beating ourselves up. That kind of sorrow wants to see you be buried by worries.
We can prevent ourselves from being bogged down by worldly sorrow by prayer. If we hand over those sorrows to God, he can turn them into godly sorrows, which can lead to productive character development. I know this can be hard, and it won’t be instant. Over time, though, you will notice fewer and fewer worries weighing you down.
Bring me to repentance, Lord. Take anything in me that’s holding me back from you. I want to develop as a child of the king, not as one who is burdened by the worries of the world. I can only do that through your power that gives me strength. So I ask for that now. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
