Isaiah 41:10 Daily Devotional
This is an Old Testament promise that God made with ancient Israel, but it still applies to the character of God today. There’s no need to be afraid or distraught because he is with us. He will never leave us or forsake us, so we can trust in him to “uphold,” “strengthen,” and “help us.”
The application here is to trust God and not fear. That doesn’t feel very practical, so I’ll take it down a level. We can trust God by taking risks and steps of faith for him. We may not always be comfortable talking to strangers about our faith, and we may feel like we don’t know what to say, but that’s a time where we can trust God.
We can rise above fear by prayer and spending time with God. Since we know God is going to help us, our trials are just a matter of praying rather than worrying. As we spend time with him, we can get more comfortable in tough situations.
Thank you for upholding, strengthening, and helping me. Because of your love, I don’t need to fear and I can trust you. Your perfect love gives me the strength to face each and every day, and it’s for that I’m thankful. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
