Luke‬ ‭16:10‬ Daily Devotional

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

‭‭– ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:10‬

Observations:

Jesus is saying here that what people do with a little they’ll do with a lot. If someone can’t be trusted with the small things, it’s impossible to trust them with the big things. However, if you can trust someone with a small thing, you can trust them with bigger and better things.

Applications:

Be the kind of person that can be trusted with a lot. Don’t let small, seemingly insignificant events discredit your trustworthiness. If someone entrusts you to do something small, don’t betray their trust. This is the only sure way that you can count on being entrusted with a lot.

So, practically, you want to be on the lookout for anything that you might deem as “beneath” you, and do that thing with all your might. As time goes on and people trust you more, you will be given more.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank you for trusting me with the small things. Help me to never take that for granted. I want to be trusted with more, so help me to be worthy of what you’ve given me to do now. It’s in your name I pray, amen.
