‭‭John‬ ‭15:2‬ Daily Devotional

“He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

John‬ ‭15:2‬

‭‭John‬ ‭15:2‬ Devotional Observations:

The “barrier to entry” in the kingdom of God is to bear fruit. Anyone who doesn’t is pruned so that fruit may be produced. It happens to Jesus and it happens to us as well. We’re not forgotten or forsaken, just pruned.

Honestly, that “barrier to entry” is such a low bar. Trees bear fruit; it’s just natural for them. The same is true for Christians. Be sure you’re bearing good fruit.

‭‭John‬ ‭15:2‬ Devotional Applications:

It’s important to check in and see if you’re bearing fruit. There’s no question that we’re typically busy, but does that bear fruit? If certainty things aren’t bearing fruit, you need to be prepared to prune that thing.

Prayer:

Jesus, prune me. Help me produce more for your kingdom. Anything in me that’s not from you can go. I don’t want more busyness, I want more effectiveness. it’s in your name I pray, amen.
