After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
– Revelation 7:9-10
I’m not going to pretend to understand Revelation, but this sounds like it’s talking about life after death. It’s a picture of all who believe in Jesus gathered together, no matter where they came from or what they look like, worshipping God.
This is what we should expect our churches to look like. I’m no expert in diversity, but it should be our goal that all people from all backgrounds feel comfortable walking into our churches. Otherwise, what do we do church for?
Help me to bring this heavenly description to life here and now. I want to be a part of the diversification of the Church. May it start with me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
