Romans 13:10 Devotional

Romans 13:10 Daily Devotional

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Romans 13:10 (see verse)

What is Romans 13:10 About?

This verse is an echo of Jesus’ discussion about the most important commandment. Instead of 600+ rules places on the Jewish people, loving your neighbor sums them all up. You even love God by loving your neighbor.

Applications:

We can love our neighbors by serving them. Serving your neighbors and meeting their practical needs is literally what Jesus came to earth to teach us to do. Following Jesus’s example means living a selfless life and putting others before ourselves.

We can also pray for our neighbors, but beyond that, it means being involved in their lives. Not in a nosy kind of way, but in a loving and present type of way. Praying for people allows us to be involved in people’s lives while helping them through tough times or celebrating with them.

Prayer:

Give me the courage required to love my neighbors. You’ve put the people around me for a reason, and I don’t want to take that for granted. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
