1 Corinthians 13:7 Daily Devotional
This is absolute language. There’s not a time where love doesn’t protect. It always protects. There’s not a time where love doesn’t trust, hope, and persevere. It always does those things.
1 Corinthians 13:7 spells out how our love ought to work. If you’re not protecting, you’re not loving. The same is true for trusting, hoping, and persevering. And this goes beyond romantic love. Protect your friends just as you would your spouse. Protect your neighbor just as you would your parents. Since love always does these things, it applies to everyone at all times.
Jesus, thank you for your perfect love. You’ve come and given me an example to live by. I ask that you would help me to always love like you always love me. Help me also to use my love to protect, trust, hope, and persevere in times of trouble. It’s in your name I pray, amen.
