Romans 8:35 Daily Devotional
The author of Romans, the Apostle Paul, is asking somewhat of a silly question. We know there’s nothing that can separate us from the love of Christ. Paul then goes on to list things in increasing severity that can’t separate us from the love of Christ. Starting with minimal troubles and ending with death. None of it can separate us from Christ, no matter how hard it tries.
Because of this truth, we don’t have to worry. Just saying “don’t worry” is easier said than done, but you can practice not worrying by spending time with God and praying. Paul writes elsewhere that we need to think on things that are heavenly in order to control our thoughts and worries, so start there. Think about how Jesus is worthy, and watch your worries get put into perspective.
I thank you that you’ve made it so nothing can separate me from your love. Help me live the kind of life that recognizes that as truth. When I’m afraid, help me to see how you’re moving in my life. Help me to hear you through my worry and doubt. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
