Philippians 1:6 Daily Devotional
What this Philippians 1:6 devotional is about is that we can be confident that whatever good God started in us will be brought to fullness through Christ. It’s a neverending work. At least, it’s neverending until Jesus comes back. Until then, God continues to work in us and develop us into the people he’s called us to be.
God works out the good he started in us, so we don’t have to do anything with that. However, God does give us the ability to develop the skills, talents, and abilities he’s given us. To apply this verse, we must start there. Think about what you like to do, then set a plan for how to get better at that thing. The Lord has put desires in all of our hearts, and those usually closely align with our purpose in ways we may not understand.
Thank you, Jesus, for the good work you’ve begun in me. Continue to help me develop the talents you’ve given me as I pursue you and your kingdom. You see potential in me; help me to see that potential, too. It’s in your name I pray, amen.
