Isaiah 40:29 Daily Devotional
I don’t know about you, but I often feel weak and weary, so this verse gives me some hope. When I’m tired and worn out, God gives me strength. When I’m weak and can’t push forward, God increases my power. Both start with the Lord.
God does this freely, so the application is to receive the strength and power that God has to offer. You can do that by resting, which seems counterintuitive. However, God “gives his beloved rest,” and in that rest is when we’re restored, strengthened, and empowered. Prayer is another way to receive the strength and power God has for us. Whether you’re at the end of your rope or it’s just another Wednesday for you, God wants to hear from you. Talk to him.
Thank you for your rest, Lord. When I’m tired and worn out, you refresh me and give me the strength to keep going. Remind me of my access to that power as I continue to pursue the things you have for me. Help me to relax, unplug, and rest so I can always be at my best for you. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
