Revelation 3:20 Daily Devotional
Jesus is always there, waiting for us to let him in. If we don’t, he stands there, waiting patiently for us to answer his call. If we do, we get to be in the presence of the Lord. He won’t bust the door down, but he is there ready for us to let him in.
There are a few ways you can figuratively open the door for Jesus. Here are a few steps to answer Jesus’ call.
- Recognize his calling. This means slowing down to listen and truly hear Jesus “at the door” in your life.
- Respond to his calling. Just recognizing Jesus is there isn’t enough, you also need to respond by “answering the door.” Prayer is a great starting place for this.
- Receive his calling. Letting Jesus enter your life is the best decision you can make, and it doesn’t stop there. You now get to share life with Jesus, which is the essence of living in your purpose. Everyone is wired a little differently, but this looks the same for everyone. Serve others. It’s a universal call with multiple applications. I encourage you to find a local church that focuses on placing people in serving opportunities that best fit your skills and abilities.
Jesus, thank you for your patience. Help me even now to understand the calling you have for me in my life. Each day, help me to recognize, respond to, and receive your calling so I may live a full life with you. It’s in your name I pray, amen.
