1 Corinthians 12:25-27 Daily Devotional

“…so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:25-27

The Apostle Paul is writing to condemn division within the church. He’s saying that each believer has should have equal concern among one another. Suffering doesn’t just happen to a localized part of the body, but when part of the body is in pain, the whole body is in pain. Likewise, if one part is happy, the rest is happy as well. The church is just like the human body and each believer is a part of it.

1 Corinthians 12:25-27 Devotional Applications:

The best way to apply this verse is to serve and honor one another. Doing that brings joy to the body of Christ. Have compassion and concern yourself with how others are being treated.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to love others well. We are all part of one body, and any suffering is shared throughout it. Help me to address that suffering and bring life to those around me. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
