How to Wait for the Lord [Psalms 27:14 Daily Devotional]
Many of us live in a society that values and praises a constant drive. We encourage people to continually make things happen and work. While there are times when working to make things happen is an appropriate response, we tend to forget about another important aspect of our faith: waiting. A lot of the time, we simply should just wait for God to move or nudge us in the right direction. However, we don’t always do that because we feel it’s always our responsibility to make something happen. That’s where courage comes in. Take heart knowing that the Lord is working on your behalf to do the things he’s called you to do. By all means, move and hustle, but mix in a lot of rest and waiting.
How to Wait for the Lord:
The verse is application. If you have a big decision coming up, pray and wait for the Father to speak to you. If you are feeling a nudge to do something but aren’t quite sure yet, pray and wait for the Lord. Rest in him knowing he will take care of your needs.
I wait for you, Jesus. Give me the strength and the courage to wait for you and listen to you. Help me to rest in you as I watch you work in my life. It’s in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
