How to Be Strong [1 Chronicles 16:11 Daily Devotional]
“Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.”– 1 Chronicles 16:11
This verse is all about how to be strong. The funny thing about it, though, is that finding strength has nothing to do with us, and everything to do with God. It’s his strength that makes us strong. We can look to him for hope and anything else we may need. Strength, then, is found in seeking him always.
The writer provides us with our application for today. How do we be strong? We seek God and his strength always. A practical way to do that is through prayer. Pray to God asking him for his strength when you’re feeling weak. You can even pray for it if you’re not feeling weak because our strength is nothing compared to what the Lord has for us.
Spending time with God on a daily basis is another way we can be strong. Reading your Bible and journaling help you recognize and record how God has not only worked in the days of the Bible but also how he’s working in your life now. Take some time to slow down and thank God for everything he’s done for you so far. Then pray for the things you still need today.
Father, thank you for your strength. Help me to pray, read my Bible, and spend daily time with you so I can learn how to be strong. Allow me to use your strength when I’m worn out and help me to recognize your goodness in my life. It’s in Jesus’s name I pray, amen.
