How to Make God Known [Psalms 105:1 Daily Devotional]
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.”
What is this verse about?
The psalmist is talking about praising God because of his goodness. However, we shouldn’t just stop at praising him. We need to also make him “known among the nations” by proclaiming his name.
How to Make God Known
This verse highlights one way to make God known, and that’s by praising him and proclaiming his name. Spending some time in worship and talking about God’s faithfulness is a good way to help the church get to know him.
Moving outside of the church, a good way to get the world to know him is by serving. We’re not called to go out of the church and pummel people with Bible verses, but we are called to go out and serve and love those around us. Doing this will help the world around us get to know God in a way they probably haven’t known him before. As you serve people, you experience more of what God’s doing around you and they get to experience God, sometimes for the first time.
Lord, thank you for the ability to praise your name and serve people. Give me the courage I need to make your name famous both inside and outside the church. Help me make disciples of all the world as you called me to do. It’s in Jesus’s name I pray, amen.
