Psalm 68:19 Daily Devotional [God Bears Your Burdens]
What is Psalm 68:19 about?
The psalmist is reflecting on how good God is. They are taking time to praise God because the Lord bears our burdens. We know now that this was a verse looking forward to the salvation we’ve received from Jesus. God bears our daily burdens through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, where he became sin and died for our salvation.
God Bears Your Burdens
I encourage you to respond to this verse in worship and celebration. Spending daily time with the God that bears your burdens daily is a great way to do that. It also allows you to communicate your needs with God in real-time. Of course, he already knows what you need, but he wants to hear from you.
Another way to respond to this verse is through worshipping God through music. This can be through corporate worship with your church or in private by yourself or with close friends. Either way, sing songs to him that reflect on this truth and express gratitude to the Father through singing.
Jesus, I thank you that you bear my burdens. Help me to give you control of what weighs me down. Give me opportunities to worship you and the discipline to spend time with you every day. It’s in your name I pray, amen.
