Worthy to Be Praised [Revelation 5:13 Daily Devotional]

“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!'”

Revelation 5:13

This passage is a poetic way to write about God’s goodness. Essentially, the author is saying he heard everything crying out worshipping God. And by everything, they mean the earth and all its creatures and the sea and all its creatures. So, the author is saying he heard all creation crying out that we are to praise, honor, and glorify the Lamb (Jesus) forever.

Worthy to Be Praised

Revelation 5:13 all boils down to encouragement for you to worship God with everything you have and all that you are. If all of heaven, earth, and the sea are crying out for God’s goodness, you can sing a song or two in church or in your car. Singing isn’t the only way to worship. Prayer is both a way to communicate with God and worship him. Use your prayer time to give thanks to God as well as asking him for the things you still need. One other act of worship is giving. By thoughtfully separating yourself from your money, you’re telling God that he is more important than the money he’s given you.

Lord, you are worthy of praise. Give me the strength to worship you at all times and in all circumstances. No matter what I’m feeling or what the world looks like, you are worthy of praise, so help me praise you. It’s in Jesus’s name I pray, amen.
