Why I Write Devotions About Hope
Hope is critical in our everyday lives, so I try to write devotions about hope often. The author of one of the Old Testament Proverbs writes in Proverbs 13:12 that “hope deferred makes the heart sick.” That’s so true. The longer we wait for something, the more we feel a longing in our hearts for that thing.
There’s a funny thing about hope, though. Hope builds character. It’s not a pleasant experience sometimes, but the second half of the Proverb mentioned above talks about how when our hope is fulfilled it will be like a “tree of life” to us. It’s in that hoping that we develop character, and it’s through that character that our hope fulfilled produces fruit.
I find it difficult to keep hoping during difficult times. Maybe you can relate. That’s why I always strive to encourage you in all of my devotionals. These devotionals are designed to help you grow in your faith in Christ. I strive to be a guide – a coach – in your journey.
My goal is always to present short, Gospel-centric devotions about hope (as well as other topics) on a daily basis. I’ve curated a small list of devotions specifically about hope so you could find them more easily.
You can always find my most up-to-date devotionals on the Daily Devotions section of my website.
