What this site collects

The contact form

When you send the form on the services page, I store exactly four things: your name, your email address, the budget range you picked, and your message. Nothing is added to that. I do not store your IP address, your browser, or where you came from.

It is saved to my own database, on a server I rent and administer myself, and a copy is emailed to me so I see it. The email is sent through Cloudflare Email Service from mail.nlvogel.com. Cloudflare handles the message in transit as my email provider.

I use it to reply to you and for nothing else. It is never sold, never shared with anyone, and never added to a marketing list. If you want a submission deleted, email me at [email protected] and I will delete it.

To stop the form being abused, the server keeps a short count of recent requests per network address. That count lives in memory only, it expires within the hour, and it is never written to disk.

Analytics

I run OpenPanel to see which pages get read. It is self-hosted on my own infrastructure, so the data stays with me and is not sent to Google or any advertising network.

It records page views and a few named interactions: filtering the stream, opening a course page, sending the contact form, and subscribing to the newsletter. Those are counts of what happened, not a profile of who you are. I do not use it to identify individual readers, and there is no advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.

Cookies and browser storage

These pages keep one thing on your device: the theme you pick with the toggle in the header. Your choice is saved in local storage, under the names nlv-theme and nlv-theme-seq, so the site renders in the same theme the next time you visit.

That preference stays in your browser. It is never sent to me, to my server, or to anyone else, and clearing your browsing data removes it.
